Over the past few days, I’ve been talking to others both in and out of my publishing class about the freelance work I want to do. Here are the results so far:

  • A friend of mine who currently works for the Dundurn Group has suggested that I apply to be a reviewer for the CBRA – so I have.  I don’t know how long it will take to get back to me, but I am looking forward to the opportunity to write book reviews.
  • I attended a networking event at the northern end of Toronto on Tuesday evening, and met with others who also want to promote their business. One of the attendees is interested in having me review some poetry and articles she wants to publish, so I’m looking forward to receiving something in the near future.
  • I’m also planning to join the Editor’s Association of Canada soon on a Student Membership. I’ve got the form all written up, and my mother has agreed to pay for the membership cost as a Christmas present. The price is still a little steep, so I’ll see if other family members can split the cost with her.

And that is that for this morning. Gotta have breakfast and leave for work.
